AI-EFFECT Featured at Wind & Solar Integration Workshop

The AI-EFFECT project was presented during the Tutorial: Artificial Intelligence in Power Systems at the Wind & Solar Integration Workshop in Berlin on October 7. The session explored how artificial intelligence is transforming renewable energy integration by enhancing grid management, improving forecasting for wind and solar, and strengthening system stability

Two lectures in the tutorial highlighted AI-EFFECT activities:

  • Spyros Chatzivasileiadis focused on trustworthy AI in power systems. The project activities regarding the development of AI explainability and trust assessment were presented, showing how transparent and reliable AI methods can support operators in decision-making and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Gianluca Lipari delivered a lecture on AI for DER Integration and Flexibility Management. The project was presented with a specific focus on service deployments and examples from the German node use cases, illustrating how AI can enhance system flexibility, resilience, and real-time grid operations.

This dual representation at the tutorial demonstrates the importance of AI-EFFECT in contributing to Europe’s efforts to integrate distributed energy resources and strengthen the reliability of future power systems.
