
This interactive workshop brings together the three EU-funded Energy AI Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) – AI-EFFECT, EnergyGuard and EnerTEF – and industry stakeholders to explore how current AI testing and validation services support real-world deployment needs in the energy sector.
The three TEFs are jointly working towards a common goal: providing sector-specific, large-scale reference sites that are open to technology providers across Europe for testing and experimenting with state-of-the-art AI solutions – both hardware and software. Together, they bridge the gap between AI research and industrial deployment, lower barriers for AI developers to bring trustworthy products to market, and help align AI integration in energy with the EU AI Act and the EU Energy Data Spaces framework.
Through short, practical service demonstrations and a structured roundtable discussion, the workshop will examine:
- How existing AI testing services can support industrial use cases – from forecasting and anomaly detection to congestion management, DER integration and multi-energy systems.
- Gaps between available capabilities and industry expectations.
- Key barriers to adoption – technical, regulatory, business and organisational.
- Opportunities for collaboration between TEFs and industry, and how services need to evolve to remain relevant beyond initial project funding.
The workshop is designed as a two-way exchange, enabling industry participants to directly influence future service evolution while gaining a clearer view of the support available for AI experimentation, validation and integration. Outcomes will feed into the long-term sustainability roadmaps of all three TEFs.
