The AI-EFFECT consortium gathered in Porto on 23–24 April 2026 for its General Assembly, hosted by INESC TEC, bringing together partners to review project progress and advance key methodological and technical work through two interactive workshops.
As the project has reached its mid-point, and the use cases and frameworks are designed, the meeting focused on the practical implementation of the project’s vision: enabling trustworthy, human‑centred AI testing and experimentation platform.
Following work package status updates on the first morning, the General Assembly moved into its first hands‑on session: the Task 4.1 Prototyping Workshop on “Prototyping, experimenting and assessing AI services.” Led by the Portuguese node, the workshop introduced partners to the service design methodology under development and applied it in practice to AI‑enabled TEF services.
On the second day, the General Assembly continued with a second interactive workshop focused on AI‑EFFECT platform alignment. As the Ai-EFFECT Web Portal is developed and currently under testing, this session aimed to ensure coherence across the project’s technical developments by aligning expectations, interfaces and functionalities of the emerging platform.
The Porto meeting concluded with a joint discussion on next steps and project review preparation. Hosting the General Assembly at INESC TEC provided a strong setting for combining strategic alignment with hands‑on experimentation, reinforcing AI-EFFECT objective to bridge research, innovation and real‑world AI testing in Europe’s energy systems.
